Dictionary
This dictionary is pretty much for those new to the FY Universe. Plus, it helps when for some messed up reason I can't remember them. When you see "rough translation," it means that I can't remember the literal translation and I don't have a real dictionary when I post it here.
Also note, that if they aren't literal translations, like with the suffixes, they are what I understand them to be. I'm not an expert in the Japanese language, so don't take these to seriously.

  • -chan-- intimate suffix for girls
  • -kun-- intimate suffix for boys
  • -san-- formal suffix for adults or people you hardly know
    First name-san-- use for acquaintances (classmates, co-workers)
    Last name-san-- use for people you just met
  • -sama-- formal suffix used for those you think are better than you (i.e.God)
  • -sensei-- formal suffix used for teachers, masters, etc.
  • Okami-- wolf
  • Kami-- god (as in a deity; not God)
  • Kamiuchu-- uchu=outer space; roughly god space
  • ShiJinTenChiSho-- Shi=4; Jin=Gods; Ten=Heaven; Chi=Earth; Sho=Book;
    In other words, The Book of the Four Gods Heaven and Earth
    English dub calls it "Universe of the Four Gods"
  • GoJinTenChiJiSho-- Go=5; Jin=Gods; Ten=Heaven; Chi=Earth;
    Ji(goku)=Hell; Sho=Book
    In other words, The Book of the Five Gods: Heaven, Earth, & Hell
    I prefer using the orignal name.
  • Miko-- priestess
  • Kaibutsuchu-- kaibutsu=monster; roughly demon space
  • Haniesu-- han=anti; iesu=Jesus (thankfully, I haven't been struck by lightning)
  • Seishi/Shichiseishi-- Shichi=seven; seishi=guardians (?)
    In FY, the seven chosen warriors that protect their miko.
    English dub calls them "Celestial Warriors" or "Suzaku/Seiryuu Seven"
  • Juryo-- shortened from juryochoka (overweight)
  • Yaseta-- skinny
  • Ganjo-- stout/brawny
  • Mejika-- doe
