Prologue 1: Angry Like the Okami-sama
High above the emptiness of space rested the realm of the four gods, called Kamiuchu or "godspace." Within this realm, there existed no sky, no ground, barren except for the four palaces floating in a sea of bright whiteness.
Each palace stood in the four cardinal directions. Serving as a neutral point betwixt them rested a fairly large, enclosed garden. Sakura trees provided a sweet scent in the air along with roses and many other flowers. Usually, a variety of animals, both familiar and alien, grazed within, enjoying the grasses and other edible plants.
However, the garden was empty, save for a giant turtle, a white tiger, a Phoenix, and a blue dragon. All of them appeared apprehensive, the Phoenix and dragon more so than the others.
Suddenly, a gray light exploded before them. As they uncovered their eyes, it faded, a large wolf stood in its stead.
The gray wolf paced in front of the nervous creatures, his eyes glaring coldly as his gaze fell on each of them. Just as he stopped, a gray light engulfed him and he transformed into a man. Long, ebony hair extended past his waist, barely touching the long, shaggy tail that flickered wildly in agitation. One smoky wolf ear jerked in time with his tail, while its partner twitched only slightly.
He paced again, his long, white-trimmed robes of black and gray satin snapping soundlessly with every step and turn. He stopped, closing his amber eyes, snapped his fingers, and his four companions turned into their alternate forms. As the glow of their transformation subsided, they each fell to one knee and bowed their heads.
"Do you all realize what has happened?" he growled as he opened his eyes. "Thanks to your ass of a Seishi, Seiryuu, only two Seishi remain to protect the ShiJinTenChiSho and the Miko's world." He crossed his arms over his broad chest. "You know, there is such a thing as "Divine Intervention," baka!"
"Hmph. So what? I had no control over him," Seiryuu sniffed. "Besides, I doubt Nakago would have listened to me. He was hell-bent on his revenge. Even if I had, it probably would have made him angrier and more ambitious." He frowned bitterly. "At the end of it all, everything came out for Suzaku's miko in the long run. I see no problem."
"Well, I see one!" he snapped, glaring at the dragon-god. Then he turned his attention to the Phoenix. "Although I am pleased that your Seishi tried to stop Nakago, I am disappointed that you and Seiryuu decided to take out your aggressions in the streets of downtown Tokyo! What were the both of you thinking?! Do you know how long it took for me to track down and rewrite people's memories of the fight? Not to mention, destroy all evidence caught on videotape and in pictures. I had to sleep three weeks afterwards!" He took a deep breath, trying to calm his overly frayed nerves.
"But, Otou-san, we were summoned by our Mikos.." Suzaku defended, but was interrupted.
"That does not matter! You are kami! You should show more respect than that! Acting like a bunch of hormone-driven teenagers!" he sighed in resignation. "You're supposed to be the level-headed one. If anything, you have the power of teleportation. You should have teleported to the Kutou Wastelands. No one lives there and you could fight til your hearts content.
"Okay, now to the point of my visit," he paused and snapped his fingers again. A plastic lawn chair materializes behind him. He sat wearily and sighed. "Like I said, there are only two Seishi alive in the ShiJinTenChiSho. Unfortunately, that means that both worlds are in serious danger."
"You see, each Seishi was apart of a giant seal that blocks the Kaibutsuchu," the gods gasped. "To be on the safe side, I created two seals. Only one was necessary, but as long as fourteen empowered Seishi remained alive in the ShiJinTenChiSho, that one seal was enough. But, now, thanks to the recent battle that killed most of the Seishi, the seal has weakened." Both Seiryuu and Suzaku paled, looking at each other grimly. "Haniesu knows of the link between the worlds. He will invade your world and the Miko's will soon follow."
"What can we do, Otou-sama?" Genbu, the black turtle, murmured quietly.
"Well, we have at least two options we can take at this point," the wolf-god stood and paced once more. "We can kill off all of Seiryuu and Suzaku's reincarnated Seishi in the Miko's world, thus they will be reborn in the ShiJinTenChiSho. Or we can take a less drastic route."
